What is an apprenticeship?
An apprenticeship is a paid job, where you learn and gain experiences and a qualification. While working, you will spend approximately 20% of your working hours, completing your apprenticeship through classroom-based learning with a training provider, and on the job learning.
Who can do an apprenticeship?
Apprenticeships are available for anybody over the age of 16 who are looking to either start a new career, or progress in their current job. The only stipulations are that you are not in full time education and have been living in England for 3 years.
What qualification will I gain?
There are a variety of qualifications available through apprenticeships, all equivalent to academic levels of GCSE to master’s degree. All qualifications are nationally recognised, and some will also include professional qualifications, or diplomas.
How much will I get paid?
At Daniel Thwaites, we pay a minimum of £9 per hour for under 20s, which increases with age.
What are the benefits of doing an apprenticeship?
Apprenticeships are a great way to earn while you learn, as they are funded by us, you won’t occur any student costs. Not only that, but you will also gain valuable experience and skills working with industry professionals, and all the employee benefits too including high street discounts.
Do I have to pay for my training?
No, Daniel Thwaites will cover the cost of any tuition fees or exam fees, meaning no student loans!

What happens when I have completed my qualification?
Upon completion, you will have the opportunity to progress in your role, and complete further qualifications. We have seen many of our apprentice’s progress in their careers, and the ability to move location can open many more opportunities for you.
